When we first published the original Case Study in 2008, we, along with many others, did not anticipate the severity of the decline in economic activity. Although we frequently updated the data to reflect the prevailing level of economic activity, we felt the need to formally revise our information. The conclusion was that the decline had definitely taken its toll on Harford County. However, we are of the opinion that by 2012, the majority of the economic variables will be back to pre-downturn trend line. As such, let’s put it behind us and move on.
With this Case Study, we looked at those variables of economic activity that would most influence an art Center. We viewed the data not merely as a static measurement but from a stochastic point of view. When we look at the positive momentum these variables are demonstrating, we arrive at the conclusion that Harford County, at the present time, is an affluent, urban environment with improving lifestage qualities and that these trends will continue to improve for the foreseeable future.
March 2011 Revised Case Study will be posted here shortly.
